I love the scent in the atmosphere after rain has settled. Living on acreage between hills, surrounded by nature, the air seems sweet and cleaner. During the rain, I feel spoiled that I can indulge, spending all day in my studio, painting or nutting out a new sewing project. For me rain has a calming effect, it makes me feel peaceful and at rest. All that nourishment is for plants, animals and us alike. Then the sun is shining again, and I can't help thinking about all the new activity under the soil in my garden -- worms, insects and tiny little organisms busy toiling the earth. Everything feels refreshed, with a sense of renewal.

18 years ago, I sat down to design my very first fabric collection. I didn't know where that exercise would lead me or that it would completely change my life forever. I poured everything I had into those drawings without a contract, a guarantee, or a company that wanted to produce what I came up with. That first collection was something of a prayer, a meditation, a hope for a future I didn't have the experience to conceive of yet. That collection was called Full Moon Forest, and it was the first step on a path that has consumed my every waking moment since. When I realized that I was again sitting down to design a fabric collection but now for the 50th time, I felt appreciation wash over me. With this new collection, I want to honor where I began and what I have gained along the way. So much has changed since that first collection and in some ways so much is still the same. Full Moon Forrest II is the culmination of the things I have learned along the way and the ways I have evolved, improved, and achieved clarity over the years of doing a job that I love so much. In this new collection, I have revisited each of the original prints and reimagined them with all of the things I have learned. I didn't want to ignore the original completely, so I included three original prints as "ghost" versions printed in white on white. These prints are designed to act as a memory, a backdrop, the very foundations that the new prints were built upon. This is a thank you letter for the last 18 years, to the manufacturers, retailers, and quilters that have supported me along the way. Full Moon Forest II is a great bookend to my first 50 collections and an awesome springboard for the next 50.

Natural greenery and flowers are hard to resist to brighten the house at Christmastime and throughout the winter months. Tossed branches of winterberry, holly, berries, and, of course, bold poinsettias and amaryllis flowers are subjects for this collection. Plus, a stripe to tie it all together.

Kaleidoscope was inspired by the playful shapes and colors generated by the vintage toy. The collection celebrates the perfectly imperfect patterns created by light as it passes through bits of colored glass and is reflected by the object's internal mirrors. The sixteen-print collection features bold, geometric designs of varied scales and richly textured blenders that hit every note on the color spectrum.

There are so many beautiful flowers across the United States. Several states share variations of roses and violets and even one state uses an evergreen. In this collection there are six iconic flowers like sunflowers (KS) and bluebonnets (TX); three regional mixed florals with Indian paintbrush and columbine (Rocky Mt.); California poppies (Pacific coast); three common wildflowers like Queen Anne's lace and chicory; and three tonal prints like orange blossom (FL). To complete the collection, there is a print combining all the featured state flowers and a small, dark diamond mixer. I love to garden and especially enjoy growing roses so I thoroughly enjoyed researching and painting this collection!

This collection highlights the extraordinary talents of the women of Morris & Co., including William Morris's daughter May Morris, Kate Faulkner, and Kathleen Kersey. A delightful palette of soft autumn hues enlivens the collection with abundant charm, celebrating the skill of these talented designers whose work translates across embroidery and wallpaper design into beautifully composed and coloured fabrics. Mulberry and Slate take centre stage in the palette, with iconic designs such as May's Honeysuckle, bursting with autumn joy, while Faulkner's Bramble takes a walk through a dense path of muted, deepening colours. Notes of Plum, Indigo and Heather complete this collection of 14 fabrics.

I've always loved water and swimming. Water is healing. The sea is wild. It's a magical place. Julia Donaldson sums up my wonder of the sea in her children's book The Snail and the Whale: "A humpback whale, immensely long. Who sang to the snail a wonderful song. Of shimmering ice and coral caves. And shooting stars and enormous waves."

I was honored to be asked to create the poster image for the 50th anniversary of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show and the collection “Sisters Mountain Meadow”. The view is from the East, the direction of the sunrise, in homage to the beginning of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. Here, in the Central Oregon High Desert, the rabbitbrush and sagebrush thrive on wide open rangelands in the low eastern elevations. The wildflowers featured are spring and early summer blooming lupine, yarrow, balsam, and paintbrush. Moving westward the elevation rises and the big ponderosa pines emerge to form a cathedral in the forests that surround Sisters. The five trees represent the five decades of the Quilt Show. The community of Sisters, on the right, is surrounded by the tree-covered rounded foothills of the Deschutes National Forest. This land was formed over millennia by the towering volcanos and the rounded cinder cones which ground us in those who came before. A bright, sunny sky tops the ancient volcanos — The Three Sisters: Faith, Hope and Charity. These snowy peaks frame the image to the West as the viewer follows the sun’s path and look toward the future.

"Utopia" is a word derived from Greek that refers to an imagined future world of idealised perfection. But as the world's great philosophers have often pointed out: "The other world is this world rightly seen." We are already surrounded by immense beauty if we can learn to look at the world that surrounds us. It is this ever-present perfection that this exciting new collection from Snow Leopard Designs portrays. From the tropical jungles full of exotic parrots, toucans, and hibiscus flowers, to the beauty of the corals in the sea to the dragonflies, butterflies, frogs, and lizards. It is with them that we share this amazing world. I hope that through this new collection, you will be able to bring that same sense of wonder that we see in the great dance of creation into your quilting and crafting projects.

Trains, castles, planes, bicycles, boats, taxis, walking, eating, experiencing, and embracing our adventures through Europe helped us create Vintage Cloth. Embarking on our enchanting journeys to Europe was like stepping into a living canvas where every corner held a piece of history, and every moment resonated with the beauty of old art, intricate tiles, and captivating architecture. From the grandeur of medieval castles to the charm of cobblestone streets, our hearts were woven into the tapestry of an older place rich with culture and heritage. Vintage Cloth is all about discovering a lost part of ourselves and the adventures we had traveling through Europe. The picturesque countryside, dotted with castles and quaint villages. The charming canals of Amsterdam, lined with historic houses and bridges, added a touch of idyllic nostalgia to our escapades. The miles of countryside we traveled through were endless and dreamy. Each city we visited seemed to be a chapter in a love story with Europe’s timelessness. Our creative hearts were inspired by the art, tiles, architecture, textures, and landscapes. We were left with the impression that ‘more is better.’ Our new/old fabrics and new/old designs reflect this approach of ‘more is better’.
