Anne Keenan Higgins

If your parents met in art school, there's a good chance some creative genes will be passed on to the next generation. It was certainly the case for Anne Keenan Higgins who grew up with 9 brothers and sisters in Michigan. After graduating from the Penny Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan, Anne began a career as an art director at various advertising agencies in Detroit. After moving to California she worked for the cartoonist, Cathy Guisewite and Papyrus corporate. She soon developed her signature whimsical style and now licenses her artwork to the greeting card, gift, fabric, and book publishing industries. She has also written and illustrated three books: Fictionally Fabulous, Ladies Who Drink, and Le Cinéma Français all published by Running Press.

Anne has settled back into the Midwest and lives with her partner, Jason, in Detroit, Michigan. When she’s not in her studio, you can find her gardening, reading, or on a trapeze flying through the air with the craziest of ease.
