I have long relied on my photos, sketches, doodles, and plans to begin any new collection of fabric and fmd the hunt and gather process to be comforting. However, when I approach other creative endeavors, such as a wall mural, all I do is gather the paints and brushes and simply begin. It is that other approach - that brave approach - that inspires this collection.
I made no plans or sketches and used no photographic references, I just trusted my hand and my eye. The beauty in this freeing style, is that the art feels like it has drawn itself. My Brave collection celebrates letting yourself completely give in to color, form, beauty and to chance. Hand-drawn pathways and imaginary florals in stimulating palettes dance through small & simple as well as large & complex designs. I'm inviting you to be BRAVE and let the spontaneity into your patchwork and sewing!

We hope Cottage Cloth evokes images of long summer days, bees buzzing amongst abundant garden blooms, and endless summer nights that are perfect in memory. We remember spending countless days from dawn to dusk at Grandma and Grandpa's little cottage. Everglow began as a collection of neutrals and evolved into a full collection of radical color designed to add depth to the Tula Pink world of fabrics.
When I began designing this collection, I was searching for something new to say about color that would still live in my world. The only realm of color that I have never touched on is the world of neutrals, those subtle colors that create the perfect backdrop to the vibrant color that I am already so fond of. Soft, earthy colors alone wouldn't stand up to my every day colors so I decided to pair their whisper with the loudest scream of color I could create on cloth-neons. Each neon is paired with their corresponding neutral in a light, medium and dark.
With my neutrals and neons in hand, I just needed a way to illustrate how to use them, so I added 4 large focal prints in two colors each to tie them all together. The animals in Everglow are centered around those that would naturally occur in those palettes. I created golds giraffes in "Neck for Days", blue grey elephants in "All Ears", silver hippos in "My Hippos Don't Lie" and coppery lions in "Good Hair Day". Each animal is represented in a more accurate color palette and a contrasting color palette that is other-worldly! The results is 8 mini color palette collections that merge together to create an oasis of rainbow goodness in unexpected combinations.

I don't have a green thumb in a real garden, so I decided to create a delightful garden on canvas instead. First, I painted and stenciled the background in a bright array of colors. Then I cut out flowers, leaves and birds from my hand-printed papers and collaged them on the background. I designed the other patterns to coordinate with the main floral pattern and created a garden story for you to enjoy. I'd love to see what you create with this line.
