  • Christmas Spirit

Christmas is a magical time that inspires me in many ways. From the peaceful and serene atmosphere of snow falling outside to the sight of snow-covered evergreen trees in the winter forests. The forests blanketed in snow evoke a sense of wonder and tranquility that fills my heart with joy, and the sound of crunching snow beneath my boots makes me feel at peace. The cozy smell of Christmas cookies baking in the oven is yet another source of inspiration. The sweet and spicy aroma fills the house and brings back memories of childhood holiday traditions. It warms my heart and makes me feel grateful for the simple pleasures in life, adding to the magic of the holiday season. Overall, Christmas is a time of giving, kindness, and joy that fills me with inspiration and hope. From the twinkling lights to the carolers singing in the festive atmosphere, it reminds me that even in the darkest of times, there is light and love to be found.

  • Exotic Garden Palace

A friend once remarked sentiments to me that I’ve never forgotten as it surprised me at the time. He said, “I go to India regularly for peace and tranquility”. He, Steve Rigg, was an elderly English doctor who carried himself with a distinguished and yet calm casual air. He shared his stories, cooking, and music experiences from times spent in India. I discovered firsthand what he meant when I too ventured solo to India in 1998. I traveled to Rajasthan endeavoring to have my block-printed and painted fabric designs reproduced onto rolls of fabric. This has been a dream of mine since a young teenager. With just a backpack, I rolled up in a rickshaw to the gates of the Rajmahal Palace in Jaipur. I could only afford to stay one night. I was escorted to my breathtakingly beautiful room. With marble floors, soaring ceilings, carved timber bed furniture and side tables, white bedlinen, and parchment paper notepads, the ambiance was special. Superb quality, including gorgeous woven reed and bamboo blinds that draped the enormous timber framed glass windows looking out to a carved screen courtyard and beyond to expansive formal gardens. From my limited travel clothes, I dressed for dinner in a smoky blue and turquoise sarong I had brought from home. I wore the turquoise silk blouse which I had made the previous day in Udaipur. On my feet, I wore brown flat sandals crisscrossed high above my ankles. Filled with wonder and delight, I strolled through the expansive intricate carved wood passageways to the marble opulent dining room. I was placed at a candlelit table for two, white linen, high ceilings, and soft lighting. I ate my smooth curry while listening to the mystical sounds of a harp being played by three men sitting cross-legged on the marble floor. I felt the “Essence of India”. The feelings evoked from the journey, left my soul enchanted and my stay so memorable. I felt feverishly inspired to want to paint and design. A seed was planted in my mind and a wish to one day have a collection on rolls of fabric, inspired by an Indian palace.

  • Good Gracious

My Good Gracious collection was named because of both the exclamation at the sight of beauty and for a little play on words after having such “good” and “gracious” experiences in the UK during the summer of 2022. The fabric designs were almost exclusively inspired by the sketches and photographs made as I traveled from Northern Scotland to Southeast England with my fiancé (now husband). A walk in the New Forest and a magical interlude with a herd of wild horses is a pictorial detailing of unforgettable moments. A guided tour of my new sister-in-law Beata’s home garden was a moment of graciousness and welcoming that I will never forget. Castle views, long walks, graceful swans, village escapades, wildflower explorations, and a Fair Isle sweater souvenir all floated to the top of my cherished memories of this beautiful chapter in my life.

MOSAIC was inspired by complex constellations of shape and color found in stained glass windows, historic architectural tilework, and other decorative building motifs. The collection includes dramatic geometric prints balanced with subtle blenders, providing a broad range of scale and visual texture. Each design is rendered in deeply saturated, earthy tones, creating a beautiful color harmony throughout the collection.

  • Mystic Moonlight

Mystic Moonlight is inspired by an old home that’s very loved and very haunted. I can imagine the antique, dark wallpaper peeling with age from the walls. As you look at the damask, your eyes play a trick on you - was that a skull in the pattern? Maybe there is an owl who has taken residence in the attic and some black cats that are chasing the moths that live in the dusty rafters. There are overgrown gardens and lots of collections, all by the light of a friendly moon. Would you go inside?

  • Mythical

The “Mythical” collection is a fantastical glimpse into a fierce group of goddesses from ancient Greek folklore. They ruled over much of the ancient world and had the ability to transform into animal form. “Fabled Forest” is their domain, and it exists somewhere on the horizon where the moon and the meadows collide in a stylized realm, mystical animals roam and the trees are made of stars. In the pattern “Powerhouse,” shimmering sunbursts and moon rays explode with zigzags and shockwaves to demonstrate the fierce power and protection of Athena and Artemis. If you look carefully along the riverbanks, the goddess “Iris” can be found among the exotic flowers that bear her name. Animals are scattered within the collection. Among the clouds and stars, in a peach-colored sky, a “Nightingale” sings and deer scatter across a “Wild Meadow” of fluttering grass. In “Owl See You,” an owl quietly sees all and blends beautifully with the other patterns. Multi-colored squares and half-moons evoke a multi-dimensional universe in “Dawn.” Punched-out moon phases feel like confetti in “It’s A Phase.” Linear lines lend movement in “Fiddlehead,” and blooms and bullseyes give off good vibes in “Bloom.”
